If you’re looking for a fun activity to do in summer and you love strawberries, the strawberry fields are a great place to visit! I went 2 years ago with my family and this time decided to go with a friend for a day trip. I honestly have never felt the same about strawberries from the supermarket! The ones you pick here yourself are huge, juicy and sweet berries which honestly do not compare with packaged ones.
There is usually a designated field where the lady in the cafe will tell you, and you ask for a punnet and go pick! You fill the punnet with what berries you want, and if you’re sneaky enough you can always have a little taste whilst picking!
It is a great activity for families, friends, or simply to try alone! Just remember to wear sunscreen as the sun is absolutely scorching in pick season.
They also have a cafe and shop where you can buy strawberry ice-cream and homemade jam from. Personally, I haven’t tried the ice cream as it is not dairy-free, but if this isn’t an issue for you or your friends I’ve been told it’s worth a try.
To begin your picking, you go into the shop and get a punnet to fill and the staff will tell you which field to pick from. You pick your juicy berries and enjoy time with your family! Great for a summer’s day, my friend and I absolutely loved it!
Be wary to wear shoes that you don’t mind getting a little dirty as sometimes its a bit damp and earthy.
The pricing is $14 per kg.
They are open 7 days a week from 8 am-4 pm, PYO season is June-October
